George House Trust
George House Trust provides advice, information and advocacy services to people living with or affected by HIV in the North West of England. You can either contact us yourself or another agency can contact us on your behalf (with your permission). Initially you can contact us by phone and we will arrange a face to face appointment with a Services Advisor or Health Trainer. Our services include:

Greater Manchester Immigration Aid Unit
We provide legal immigration advice and representation to people in Manchester and the surrounding areas. We have a Legal Services Commission Specialist Quality Mark and provide 'legal aid' to people who are eligible. We also have a number of projects that support people who are especially vulnerable including women who are seeking asylum and have been subject to violence, separated children, and people who are destitute.
Gtr Manchester Pay & Employment Rights Advice Service
We give information, advice and support on employment rights, by telephone only, to anyone living and/or working in the Greater Manchester region.
We are accredited by Community Legal Services to casework standard.

Housing Possession Court Scheme at Manchester Civil Justice Centre
We provide free initial advice and representation at court for those in rent and housing possession cases, irrespective of means.
If you arrive at court for a hearing on Monday (mortgage repossession or a warrant) or Wednesday (rent possession) and you do not have legal representation, we can help.
Our legal representatives are from Manchester Community Legal Advice Service.
Lesbian and Gay Foundation
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are a North West health and social care charity based in Manchester. We deliver a range of services from Monday-Friday between 10am and 10pm, including:
- Counselling
- Advice surgeries (fortnightly legal surgery and a weekly police surgery)
- Helpdesk (includes pop-in service, helpline and email support)
- Groups (social and support)
- Sexual health services
- Young peoples outreach services
- Resources and a bi-monthly magazine

Manchester Mind (formerly HARP)
HARP is now affiliated to National Mind and will be called Manchester Mind. We will still be delivering the same services, with the same values and committment to the people we work with.
We support people with mental health problems living in Manchester. Our services include advice about benefits, housing, debt and homelessness, assertive outreach, support, volunteering opportunities, counselling, an internet cafe and social activities for young people aged 16-24. HARP cafe provides healthy and tasty food at decent prices to people in the Hulme area. Good Mood Food (our outside catering business) provides training and volunteering opportunities for people with mental health needs. We hold the CLS Quality Mark for General Help with Casework in Debt, Disability, Health and Community Care, Housing, Welfare Benefits and Young People.
Personal Support Unit (PSU) based at Manchester Civil Justice Centre
The PSU is a court based service providing practical and emotional support to litigants in person, their friends, families and supporters, and other court users. The work we do is unique. We do not give legal advice, but our volunteers invest their time, skills and energy to solve your problems.
Our core activities include:

- helping you to find and fill the correct legal forms
- guiding people around

At our City Centre centre (located on Oldham Street in Manchester city centre), we can also provide young homeless people with free breakfast, shower and laundry facilities between 10am-12noon Mon-Fri.
At our Signpost centre (in Wythenshawe), we can also provide young people with IT access, pregnancy testing and food parcels.
